Counselling Services

What are the counselling services and who can avail of them?

As well as providing palliative (end-of-life) nursing care to terminally ill patients, the South Westmeath Hospice Foundation provides information on bereavement and coping with loss.

Counselling services can help those who have been bereaved by the death of someone who was cared for by Hospice services. This service is available to assist families in dealing with bereavement by providing information, support, and bereavement counselling to both adults and children. Individual and group meetings with social workers are possible. They may give you advice on how to talk to your child and others who may be struggling to understand death and the loss of a close relative.
